Socialising at Field Fisher Waterhouse

There’s plenty of opportunity to get involved in life outside of work at Field Fisher Waterhouse.

The firm supports a Trainee Social Committee which organises social events for current and future trainee intakes throughout the year. Past events the Committee has organised include a Christmas cocktail-making Masterclass, a Brick Lane curry night, Karaoke in Soho, ten pin bowling and Ceilidh (irish) dancing!

There are also a number of firm wide social events taking place throughout the year. Each Department organises its own Christmas Party and an away day. Previous destinations have included country clubs, a theme park and a Eurostar trip to Paris. There is also an annual Sports and Social Quiz, a firm-wide Christmas carol service and even a road race that pits departmental teams against one another to obtain the best time. In addition, the firm holds lots of ad hoc charity events, such as the recent darts night in favour of Richard House and the charity gala to raise funds for cancer research. There is a lot to get involved in, whether as an organiser or an attendee, and the firm places great important on spending time with the people you work with outside of the office.

Sports at Field Fisher Waterhouse

The firm currently has three sports teams in which trainees can participate.

The firm’s netball team is run by current trainee Jenny Bradley and recent qualifier Carina Dalton. Field Fisher Waterhouse’s Netball Queens has recently stormed to victory, winning 10 out of their 12 fixtures and coming top of the league. Netball matches are interspersed with weekend training sessions, where the rusty or the very keen can hone their netball skills.

Our football team is run by current trainees Jamie Pullen, Phil Bilney and Nick Buckland. The firm plays in the London Legal League, with weekly fixtures throughout the season. The football team is a great way to keep fit and an excellent opportunity to meet people from all over the firm, as the players come from varying departments and business groups. There’s always time for a post match pint to debate the finer points of the off side rule!

The firm also has a hockey team, a mixed team for players of all abilities. Fixtures are a mix of friendlies and league matches, and new players are always welcome.

Last but not least is the squash team run by Tom Pond, regular lunchtime and evening matches take place on the two courts in the Field Fisher Waterhouse offices.
